BCNH Accreditations

Working in Partnership with the University of Northampton

The University of Northampton (UON), which was awarded Goldthe highest possible mark in the Government’s Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), validates our BSc (Hons) in Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine programme.

The academic partnerships team at UON ensures that students of collaborative partners receive the same high-standard teaching and learning experience as those on campus. We are therefore delighted to offer a UON-validated programme to our students.

NTEC - Nutritional Therapy Education Commission

NTEC Accreditation

The Nutritional Therapy Education Commission (NTEC) is the Professional Standards Council for Nutritional Therapy. They establish, uphold, and advance the standards of qualifications, competence and conduct of those who practice nutritional therapy as a profession.

NTEC accredits courses against the National Occupational Standards (NOS) in Nutritional Therapy.  The NOS are developed and updated by Skills for Health, which is the Sector Skills Council for the healthcare sector, licensed by the Secretary of State for Education and Skills.

BCNH has successfully achieved NTEC accreditation of our Diploma courses for over 10 years, and our new BSc (Hons) Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine course is also accredited by NTEC.

CNHC - Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council

Registration with CNHC

Graduates from NTEC-accredited courses are eligible to apply for fast-track entry to the professional register of Nutritional Therapy Practitioners held by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

The CNHC was established with government support to regulate various complementary therapies, including nutritional therapy, and its key purpose is to protect the public.

As the BSc (Hons) Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine course is accredited by NTEC, BCNH graduates are eligible to apply for fast-track entry to the professional register held by the CNHC.

Membership of BANT

Students enrolled on the BSc (Hons) Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine course are eligible to become student members of the British Association for Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and convert to full membership upon graduation.

BANT acts as a professional body for Nutritional Therapy Practitioners and those working in the wider application of nutrition science, promoting high standards of education, integrity and ethics and providing professional support.
