Student Finance

The BSc (Hons) Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine qualifies for student finance.

New students who commence the course in 2021 / 22 may be eligible to apply to Student Finance England for a tuition fee loan to pay their fees.  For more information on the eligibility criteria for part-time tuition fee loans, please visit the Student Finance website.

Please note that as no physical attendance is required for the course, the Student Loans Company (SLC) classifies this course as ‘distance learning’ and therefore only eligible for a tuition fee loan (not a maintenance loan).

If approved for a tuition fee loan, the loan will be paid directly to the University of Northampton. Students who are funding their studies via a tuition fee loan must provide evidence of SLC approval of funding at registration.

Additional Costs

BANT Membership

Students based in the UK are advised to apply for student membership to the British Association for Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine (BANT).  Student membership fees can be found on the BANT website and, at time of writing, are £65 for new members (£25 for renewals).

Being a student member of BANT will enable you to keep abreast of important industry developments, as well as give you access to a range of member benefits.

Recommended Textbooks

There are several core textbooks that will be required in order for you to succeed on the course, however, these will be accessible online for free via the University of Northampton’s library and learning services.

There may be additional specialist textbooks that you wish to purchase, or you may prefer to purchase a hard-copy of certain core textbooks for your personal use, however this is not essential.
